Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones)

The HUBZone Program is a United States Small Business Administration (SBA) program for companies that have an office in and employ people in Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones). They are dedicated to building up communities, creating jobs, and supporting the local economy. When you work with a HUBZone Certified Contractor, your business can reap the benefits of a company that is helping build communities.

IMGFORGE is proud to be HUBZone Certified and to present all the benefits that come with this certification to our future clients.

To qualify as HUBZone Certified, businesses must meet certain requirements. These requirements translate into benefits for the clients that choose to work with them.

IT’S GOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY:

When you work with a HUBZone Certified Business, you know they care about their community. One of the main missions of the HUBZone is to contribute to the economic development of disadvantaged communities by reducing unemployment and homelessness.

And, it’s not only the HUBZone Council that cares about the community. As a requirement for certification, 35% of the certified firm’s employees must reside within a Federally Designated HUBZone area. This means our employees, and the employees of other certified companies, are living, working, playing, and spending time in the same communities they are investing in. Their families live there. So, they are invested in improving the community.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE GETTING LOCAL:

Certified businesses must be owned and controlled by at least 51% U.S. citizens, a Community Development Corporation, an agricultural cooperative, or an Indian tribe. So, you know the people you are working with are giving back to the community, and the money you’re spending is going back to the community as well.

Hiring a HUBZone Certified Contractor means that their employees are out and about in the community. They aren’t nameless faces with no connection to the community where they are working. Their work and their lives are localized.

The HUBZone Program also values leadership and is continuously working to educate and train future leaders. Filling a community full of strong leaders only means good things for that community in the future.

EXTRA RESOURCES:

HUBZone members have the backing and assistance of the HUBZone Council which provides them with information and support in order to maximize their success in earning federal contracts. When you work with a HUBZone Certified Contractor, you also get the backing and benefits the Council provides.

HUBZone companies are well-connected within the community due to exceptional networking opportunities, and they are extremely educated due to access to webinars, materials and the HUBZone University.

(It’s important to note that HUBZone contractors are not limited to working within their HUBZone, but they are invested in improving, building, and growing their communities.)
