Hacked with no backups. Joomla Vulnerable without Updates.

Yesterday, we had 3 different sites hacked. They were all running different versions of Joomla (none unfortunately were current) and they were all hosted by different companies. One of the sites was able to be restored to a point, but it took most of the day and night to resolve and brought the business to a halt. The 2nd site we are still troubleshooting and the 3rd is gone - all files deleted. The hackers changed the C-panel to the Arabic language and created sub-dom [...]

Soyung and I are pleased to announce the commencement of the re-design for the Pointer Sisters' website. For years I had thought about asking Anita to give us the opportunity to build a new, interactive site but never did. While we were in California, we visited (as we always do) the Pointer Brother, Fritz and his wife Liz. They have been friends with us for around eight years.

Fritz was on his way to LA to discuss the new Pointer Sisters movie with the pro [...]

What We're Working On At IMGForge

News from IMGForge, your Cary, NC web design company:

Today is a great Wednesday for me because it started with hot apple cider. I worked on the introductory text for the Fans Office Furniture page, and added the site to directories. Then I had a Joomla lesson -- thanks, So! -- and started to work on the Circle Medical Group site.

It's not all me and my hot cider, of course. We've gotten a bunch of new clients recently, including Ancient Arts Family Karate, right here in Cary, Nor [...]

Another great post by Shaun is this one:

A (Nearly) Bulletproof Web Design & Development Project Checklist for clients and designers.

If you're aiming to agree a fixed price for the development of the website, as we do, ensure the project goes smoothly before you start, by communicating with your client at the outset.

They'll appreciate you for it, there will be less surprises, and you may be able to start making a profit from fixed cost website design jobs again;
Pri [...]

Repost from 09/ 22/ 2008

In a time when the lead news stories focus on businesses downsizing, the rising costs of gas and groceries, and general economic turmoil, it is hard to avoid feeling the "recession depression." But as business owners we have two choices: We can let the media send us into panic mode or we can view the economic downturn as an opportunity.

This is a time in the economy when millionaires are made. While some businesses are givi [...]

Medical Websites: I want "lasers," not "leeches!"

When we recently moved to the Cary, NC area, one of the first things we did was to find physicians for our two sons. We did the normal search in Google and came up with a huge number of doctor's in the area.

[...]
